You need medicine fast, but you don’t want to queue in a crowded pharmacy. That’s where contactless pharmacy delivery comes in. This guide compares the two main players—800Pharmacy and Life Pharmacy—head-to-head so you can pick the right one for your first order.

Who actually stocks the meds you need.
800PHARMACY VS LIFE PHARMACY: THE BASICS
800Pharmacy is the delivery arm of the government-linked SEHA pharmacies. Think of it as the public option. You order through their app or website, and a SEHA driver brings your meds from a nearby government pharmacy.
Life Pharmacy is a private chain with 60+ stores across the UAE. They run their own delivery fleet and app, so you’re dealing with a single private company from order to doorstep.
HOW EASY IS IT TO PLACE YOUR FIRST ORDER?
800Pharmacy
Download the SEHA app. Tap “Pharmacy” on the home screen. Search for your med by name or scan the barcode on the box. Add to cart, pick your address, and pay. The app walks you through each step with big buttons and simple Arabic-English toggles.
Life Pharmacy
Download the Life Pharmacy app. Create an account—name, mobile, email. Search for your med or browse categories like “Baby” or “Diabetes.” Add to cart, choose delivery slot, and pay. The app has a cleaner design but assumes you already know basic app navigation.
Winner: 800Pharmacy for absolute beginners. The SEHA app is more forgiving if you’re not tech-savvy.
HOW FAST CAN YOU GET YOUR MEDS?
800Pharmacy
Same-day delivery if you order before 2 p.m. After 2 p.m., it rolls to the next day. Delivery windows are 4-hour blocks: 8 a.m.–12 p.m., 12 p.m.–4 p.m., 4 p.m.–8 p.m. No exact time, so you’ll need to stay home for half the day.
Life Pharmacy
Same-day delivery if you order before 6 p.m. Delivery windows are tighter: 1-hour slots between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. You can track the driver in real time on the app, so you won’t waste hours waiting.
Winner: Life Pharmacy. The 1-hour slots and live tracking save you time and stress.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
800Pharmacy
Delivery fee: AED 15 flat. No minimum order. Prescription meds are priced at government rates, which are usually 20–30% cheaper than private pharmacies. No surge pricing—fees stay the same even on weekends or holidays.
Life Pharmacy
Delivery fee: AED 25 for orders under AED 100. Free delivery if your order is AED 100 or more. Prices for meds are private-sector rates, so expect to pay more than at 800Pharmacy. They run frequent promotions—10% off first order, buy-one-get-one-free on vitamins—but these don’t apply to prescription meds.
Winner: 800Pharmacy if you’re on a budget or need expensive prescription meds. Life Pharmacy if you’re ordering small, non-prescription items and can hit the AED 100 free-delivery threshold.
WHICH ONE HAS THE MEDS YOU NEED?
800Pharmacy
Stocks all government-approved meds, including chronic disease meds like insulin, blood pressure pills, and asthma inhalers. No over-the-counter (OTC) supplements or beauty products. If it’s a prescription med, they’ll have it. If it’s a vitamin or skincare item, they won’t.
Life Pharmacy
Stocks a wider range: prescription meds, OTC painkillers, baby formula, skincare, and even some groceries like milk and diapers. Their app has a “Shop by Ailment” feature—tap “Headache” and it shows you all the options. Useful if you’re not sure what you need.
Winner: Life Pharmacy for variety. 800Pharmacy for essential prescription meds only.
HOW DO THEY HANDLE PRESCRIPTIONS?
800Pharmacy
You must upload a valid UAE prescription when you place the order. The app checks it against the SEHA database, so no fake scripts. If your prescription is expired or invalid, the order is canceled. Refills for chronic meds are easy—just tap “Refill” in the app and your previous prescription is reused.
Life Pharmacy
You can upload a prescription during checkout, but they also accept verbal prescriptions over the phone for some meds. This is convenient but riskier—if you lose your prescription, you can still get meds. Refills require you to call customer service or visit a store, which is less seamless than 800Pharmacy’s app-based system.
Winner: 800Pharmacy for safety and ease of refills. Life Pharmacy for flexibility if you don’t have your prescription handy.
WHICH APP IS LESS FRUSTRATING?
800Pharmacy
The SEHA app is slow to load and sometimes crashes. The search function is basic—if you misspell a med name, it won’t suggest corrections. On the plus side, it’s available in Arabic and English, and the checkout process is straightforward.
Life Pharmacy
The app is faster and more polished. Search is smarter—type “para” and it suggests “paracetamol.” You can save multiple addresses and payment methods. The downside: it’s English-only, which can be tough if Arabic is your first language.
Winner: Life Pharmacy for app performance. 800Pharmacy for language accessibility.
HOW DO THEY DELIVER?
800Pharmacy
A SEHA driver in a branded car arrives. They’ll call you when they’re outside. You must show your Emirates ID to match the prescription. No contactless option—you’ll need to sign for the delivery. If you’re not home, they’ll leave a missed-delivery slip and you’ll have to reschedule.
Life Pharmacy
A Life Pharmacy driver in a plain car arrives. They’ll text you when they’re 5 minutes away. You can opt for contactless delivery—leave a cooler bag outside your door and they’ll drop the meds inside. If you’re not home, they’ll leave the package with your building security or neighbor.
Winner: Life Pharmacy. The contactless option and flexibility with missed deliveries are huge perks.
